If you want to download a YouTube video as an MP4 file, there are a few different ways to do it. Here are the steps for downloading a YouTube video as an MP4 file using three different methods.
Method 1: Use a YouTube Downloader
There are many different YouTube downloaders available, and they vary in terms of features and ease of use. We’ll be using WinX YouTube Downloader for this guide, but the process should be similar in other programs.
Once you’ve installed and launched the program, head to the YouTube video you want to download. Copy the URL from the address bar at the top of your browser, then click the “Paste URL” button in WinX YouTube Downloader.
In the next window, select MP4 as your output format, then click the “Browse” button and choose a location to save the file. Finally, click the “Download” button.
The download process will begin, and you can monitor its progress in the “Downloads” tab. Once the download is complete, you can find the MP4 file in the location you specified.
Method 2: Use an Online Converter
If you don’t want to install any additional software, you can use an online converter like Online Video Converter.
Head to the YouTube video you want to download, copy the URL from the address bar, then head to Online Video Converter and paste the URL into the “URL to Video” field. Next, select MP4 as your output format, then click the “Start” button.
The conversion process will begin, and you can monitor its progress in the “Downloads” tab. Once the download is complete, you can find the MP4 file in the location you specified.
Method 3: Use VLC Media Player
If you have VLC Media Player installed, you can use it to download YouTube videos as MP4 files. Once you’ve launched VLC, head to the “Media” menu and select “Open Network Stream”.
Paste the URL of the YouTube video you want to download into the “Please enter a network URL” field, then click the “Play” button.
Once the video starts playing, head to the “Media” menu again and select “Save As…”
In the “Save As” window, choose a location to save the file and make sure the “File Format” drop-down menu is set to “MP4 Video”. Finally, click the “Save” button.
